Problem:
Following an upgrade from Capture professional 4.1 to Capture Professional 5.1 patch 2, assembly takes very long. When scanning a batch of 900 pages it takes 15 minutes to assemble it.
Solution: Upgrade to patch 4 solved the problem.

We also noticed our capture assembly slowed down after our upgrade from 5.0.1 to 5.1 patch 3. We feel it is the application more than the client. We will patch to 4 and let you know our outcome.
Patch did not speed up assembly on our system.
Our fix was to stop capture statistics for Assembly. Capture is not flying through Assebmly.
"NOW" flying through Assembly.
Did you have this problem while using out-of-box Capture or a customized Capture problem.
Out of the box Capture.
A few weeks after disabling "assembly statistics" for Capture, clients began to slow again. To fix the problem we purged all statistics older than 3 months. The statistics seems to be a real problem.
